4-H Military Partnerships

4-H partners with Navy CYP to provide technical assistance and training for Navy youth professionals and establish 4-H Clubs for military youth on installations around the world.

As military families move frequently and experience the difficulties surrounding lengthy and frequent deployments, 4-H provides predictable programming and a safe and nurturing environment for military kids.

Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) 

BGCA provides installations and YPs with resources and programs related to healthy, safe activities and mentoring for youth. Focus areas include health and life skills, sports fitness and recreation, character and leadership development, and education and career development. All Navy YPs are affiliated with BGCA, so children and families find the same guidance, stability, and dynamic programs provided by BGCA.

Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA)

CCAoA administers the EFMP Respite Care program, which is available for Navy families who have children identified as Exceptional Family Members (EFM). This includes family members whose medical condition requires assignment near major medical facilities in the continental United States, or whose needs are complex and require continued care. EFMP Respite Care helps families with children with special needs by providing 40 hours of respite care per month so they can leave the house, go to an appointment, or just rest, while knowing that their child is well cared for.

Council on Accreditation (COA)

The Council on Accreditation (COA) is the national accrediting body that sets and monitors standards for high quality child and youth development programs. Accreditation by COA signifies that a program is providing the best possible services to its customers and stakeholders. In addition to the accreditation process, COA also offers numerous resources such as publications, professional development, and training. All military School Age Care programs are accredited by COA.

Kids Included Together (KIT)

Kids Included Together (KIT) specializes in providing best practices training for community-based youth organizations committed to including children with disabilities into their existing recreational, social, and child care programs.

KIT provides training and consultation support to all US Navy Child and Youth Programs on the topic of inclusion of children with disabilities in Child Development Centers, Child Development Homes, School Age Care, Youth and Teen Programs.

Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)

MCEC promotes partnerships and facilitates networking between military installations and their supporting school districts. Its focus is to address transition and other educational issues related to the military-connected child, including Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves. 

MCEC has made great strides in thoroughly researching the needs of military children and using the expertise, knowledge, and experience gained to initiate programs to meet the needs of these children.

Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT)

MCT is a non-profit organization fostering enrichment, creativity, and education in children of all ages through theatre. MCT provides installations and YPs with opportunities and resources for creative programs and performing arts as a means of enhancing self-expression. Working with installations, MCT “produces” theater productions, including full-scale musicals, through intense, week-long “residency” activities.

National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS)

The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) is a partnering organization that promotes the value and importance of sports and physical activities in the emotional, social, mental, and physical development of youth worldwide. NAYS provides guidance on youth sports standards and policies, training for coaches and youth sports administrators, and other resources for youth program staff, coaches, volunteers, and parents. 

We partner with NAYS to enhance the on-going commitment to the health and wellness of Navy youth.

The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC)

The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is a national membership organization that supports the profession of family child care and encourages high-quality care for children. NAFCC promotes family child care through accreditation, leadership training, technical assistance, public education, and policy initiatives. We encourage all Child Development Home Directors to promote the NAFCC accreditation process to qualified CDH Providers.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a national accrediting body that sets and monitors the standard for high-quality early childhood programs serving children from birth through kindergarten.
